Easy Hawaiian Style
Fried Rice

Ingredients:
1 Can Spam
5 Medium Links Portuguese Style Sausage
2 Cups Frozen Peas & Carrots
6 Cups Cooked Jasmine Rice (or as desired)
4 Cloves Minced Garlic
5 Tblspoons of Shoyu Sauce
1/2 Tspoon of Chili Powder (or as desired)
1/2 Tspoon of Salt (or as desired)
1/2 Tspoon of Pepper (or as desired)
Directions:
PREPARATION
1. Cook the Rice
2. Cube Spam and Portuguese Sausage
3. Mince the Garlic
COOKING
1. Sautee the Garlic about 1 minute under med. high heat
2. Add the Spam and
Porto Sausage and wait until it gets a nice "stir-fry" color
3. Add the cooked Rice
4. Add the Peas and
Carrots (pre-diced)
5. Mix well
6. Add the Shoyu Sauce
7. Sprinkle the chili
powder, salt and pepper
8. Mix well and enjoy!
Comments:
This is great for breakfast or lunch. Top with medium over easy egg and sprinkle
with nori furikake on top. It's real ono-yummy!

Bruddah D's Crock Pot Kalua Pig

INGREDIENTS:
1) Pork Butt- about 5 pounds
2) Hawaiian salt or Kosher sea salt - 1/4 cup to start
3) Liquid smoke - Mesquite
4) 1/4 cup water
Optional - Garlic Powder
DIRECTIONS:
1) Wash and pat dry pork butt
2) Cut slits into pork
3) Rub with salt and garlic powder and 1/2 bottle of liquid smoke
4) Place pork in Crock Pot
5) Mix rest of liquid smoke with water pour into crock pot
6) cook on high setting for 5-6 hours - Time may vary due to crock pot used.
7) Taste pork near the end of cooking time and add more salt as desired
8) When done shred pork and serve over rice or make Kalua Pig and
Cabbage.....Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!!
COMMENTS:
This is
a great recipe for those of us living away from home. You may want to cut the
pork butt in half to fit better in the pot.
Feel free to modify the amount of salt to your liking. I also soak a kitchen
towel in water and place it over the cover to keepin the heat and flavor.
Be
sure to soak the towel every hour to prevent it from drying out. If you can't
find mesquite smoke use anyone you find.

Mango-Papaya
Smoothie

Ingredients:
1/2 Mango
1 1/2 Papaya's
two teaspoons of sugar
4 ounces of pineapple juice
1 cup of crushed or whole ice
(optional)
Directions:
put in the 4 ounces of pineapple juice.
Then add the ice and the ice and blend in blender.
Next you add the Mangos and the papaya's together in the blender, blend, and add
the sugar, and you have yourself a wonderfully tasting snack on a hot summer
day!
Comments:
This fruity drink is great on a hot summer day! It tastes good, and is also good
for you.
